About Us

Our Mission

We host in-person letter writing pop-ups where people can pause to engage with their local community, and write a card to someone in their life. In our little way we aim to contribute to a kinder and more connected world. At all of our events we provide free materials, stamps, a mail drop, and send the cards out the next day!

About Stamp of Sunshine & Founder Alexandra Mamalakis

In 2020 when I went through a low time in my life, my sweet coworkers, family and friends sent letters to me. They were, and still are, stamps of sunshine in my life, and to this day I have the handwritten letters on my bedroom door!

It made me think that if everyone received a handwritten card from someone in their life who stopped to think of them, we might all feel a little more loved, known, cared for, and then have more space to go love others from there.

So, in 2023 I decided to start Stamp of Sunshine, with free cards, stamps & a mail drop in an effort to remove the typical barriers to sending snail mail. It started fully as a passion project, and alongside my co-founder and childhood friend, Nina Pittas, we’re now a non-profit in IL, CA, and MA!

Our Vision

Our vision is a world where pausing to tangibly connect is the standard, and unexpected reminders of our inherent worth reduce human isolation.
